West Pierce Fire & Rescue is NOW TESTING for Entry-level Firefighter.
The Entry-level Firefighter application period is now closed. The timeline and testing process for applicants are listed below. Please read all of the links and documents for the appropriate information needed to apply for the position.
The testing process consists of three phases: a written exam, panel interviews and a candidate reception. Veterans’ preference is added to the final score, after the candidate successfully completes all three phases.
Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 3:00 – 5:00 PM or 6:00 – 8:00 PM – Candidate Information Session (optional)
Saturday, September 23 and Monday, September 25, 2017 – National Fire Select Test (NFST) Examination Sessions
TEST SCORES ARE AVAILABLE BY CLICKING HERE. Please note:
– Scores are posted in order by test booklet ID number. If you do not have your test booklet ID numbers, please email email@example.com (score will NOT be released by phone)
– Passing grade is 70% – only those test booklet ID numbers are posted. Any test booklet ID numbers that are not listed did not obtain a passing score.
– We are unable to provide review of your written exam or advise which questions were incorrect
– Only those candidates proceeding to panel interviews will receive further communications about the testing process
Week of October 16, 2017 – Oral Boards
Candidates selected for this phase will be notified via email of their scheduled date and time by Monday, October 9, 2017.
Beginning October 20, 2017 – Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT)
Candidates will receive via email instructions for completing CPAT. Passing CPAT grade is required as a condition of employment. If you have successfully completed CPAT since October 2016, you will be required to provide documentation. The CPAT orientation guide is available at the Public Safety Testing and National Testing Network websites.
Week of October 24, 2017 – Candidate Evening Reception (mandatory)
Candidates proceeding to the reception will receive instructions via email.
