West Pierce Fire & Rescue is NOW TESTING for Entry-level Firefighter.
The Entry-level Firefighter application period will be held from Monday, August 14th at 8:00 AM (PST) until Friday, September 8th at noon (PST). Applications will not be accepted outside of this time frame.

If you would prefer a hard copy application, they can be obtained from West Pierce Fire & Rescue Station 31, located at 3631 Drexler Drive W in University Place during business hours (Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM). Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 3:00 – 5:00 PM or 6:00 – 8:00 PM – Candidate Information Session (optional)
Candidates are welcome to join WPFR for this information session, which will cover information about the testing process, WPFR as an agency and answer questions candidates may have. This session is optional, but if candidates plan on attending, RSVP is required on the application due to limited seating. Candidates will receive directions and parking information via email.
Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 9:00 AM or 1:00 PM – National Fire Select Test (NFST) Examination Sessions
Monday, September 25, 2017 at 1:00 PM or 6:00 PM – National Fire Select Test (NFST) Examination Sessions
Candidates will receive an email confirmation of their scheduled examination session by Friday, September 15, 2017. The examinations will be at Pacific Lutheran University. Candidates will receive directions, parking information and check in procedures. Candidates are strongly encouraged to access the NFST Orientation Guide and Practice Test.
Week of October 16, 2017 – Oral Boards
Candidates selected for this phase will be notified via email of their scheduled date and time by Monday, October 9, 2017.
Beginning October 20, 2017 – Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT)
Candidates will receive via email instructions for completing CPAT. Passing CPAT grade is required as a condition of employment. If you have successfully completed CPAT since October 2016, you will be required to provide documentation. The CPAT orientation guide is available at the Public Safety Testing and National Testing Network websites.
Week of October 24, 2017 – Candidate Evening Reception (mandatory)
