Beginning Monday, August 6, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. (PST), West Pierce Fire & Rescue will be accepting applications for Entry-level Firefighter/Paramedic.
The timeline and testing process for applicants are listed below. Please read all of the links and documents for the appropriate information needed to apply for the position.
The testing process consists of three phases: a written exam, panel interviews and a candidate reception. Veterans’ preference is added to the final score, after the candidate successfully completes all three phases. The timeline of the testing process is outlined below:
Monday, August 6, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. (PST) – Application period opens
Monday, September 17, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. (PST) – Application period closes
Candidates must complete an online application at www.westpierce.org/employment. *Upon verification of completed online application, candidates will receive instructions to self-schedule a written examination sessions.
CANDIDATE INFORMATIONAL SESSION (optional):
Week of September 17, 2018
Candidates are welcome to join WPFR personnel for this informative session, which will provide details on the testing process, WPFR as an organization and answer questions. RSVP is required, as space is limited. Candidates will receive instructions on how to RSVP, after successful completion of the online application and scheduling a written examination session.
COMPREHENSIVE EXAMINATION BATTERY WRITTEN EXAMINATION:
Saturday, September 22 at 9:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.
Monday, September 24, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.
Exams will be conducted at Pacific Lutheran University. There will be multiple sessions; candidates will self-schedule upon successful completion of the online application. The CEB-PST (2nd edition) Candidate Orientation Guide will be provided electronically. Directions and a parking pass will be provided after completion of the application and registration for an examination session.
ORAL BOARD INTERVIEWS:
Week of October 15, 2018
Candidates selected for this phase will be notified by Monday, October 8, 2018. Candidates will self-schedule on a first come, first served basis.
Week of October 29, 2018
Candidates proceeding to the reception will be notified by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2018. This evening reception provides the opportunity for candidates to meet a variety of WPFR personnel from all divisions.

ANTICIPATED HIRE DATE:
