SUMMARY:Stop the Bleed Class
DESCRIPTION:Stop the Bleed \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \nAccording to a recent National Academies of Science study\, trauma is the leading cause of death for Americans under the age of 46. Those nearest to someone with life-threatening injuries are best positioned to provide first care. No matter how rapid the arrival of professional emergency responders\, bystanders will always be first on the scene. A person who is bleeding can die from blood loss within five minutes\, therefore it is important to quickly stop blood loss. Launched in October 2015 by the White House\, Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign and a call to action. Stop the Bleed is intended to cultivate grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained\, equipped and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. \nAll classes are capped at 30 students. For more information and to sign up for a class\, please click here. Life jackets and bike helmets will be available for purchase (cash only and rider must be present for custom fit). Make it an evening! Have dinner (food trucks available until 8pm)\, then settle on your blankets for the fantastic outdoor movie (“Coco”) on the big screen. This annual event bring the community together to celebrate Lakewood.
