Two Babies Visit West Pierce

In late January, Engine and Medic 20’s responded to a pregnancy-related 911 call and transported an expectant mother to the hospital. Soon after, little Charlotte made her big debut into the world, a little earlier than anticipated.
This evening, on her first St. Patrick’s Day, little Charlotte came to the fire station to meet the crew who helped transport her mother to the hospital. They posed for a few photos and enjoyed meeting one of West Pierce’s newest residents.
Just two days prior to this, C Shift responded to the side of I-5 northbound for a baby who was delivered in the car. While the family was trying to make it to the hospital, the baby boy had different plans. He couldn’t wait and was delivered as firefighters arrived to the scene. Mom and baby (as well as Dad and Grandma) were all doing well and were transported on to the hospital. The family was invited to the fire station in one year to celebrate the little guy’s first birthday.
While West Pierce responded to more than 15,000 911 calls in 2015 alone, these are the types of calls that stick with firefighters in a positive way. Congratulations to the two families and welcome to West Pierce, babies!
