Two West Pierce Fire & Rescue Employees Presented Merit Awards

On Tuesday, July 17 at the West Pierce Fire & Rescue Board of Commissioners meeting, two WPFR employees were presented with Merit Awards for their heroic actions while off-duty and on vacation.

Firefighter Shawn Lamb and his wife, Executive Assistant Tammy Lamb, jumped into a pool when they heard the frantic cries of a mother nearby, whose daughter had gone underwater and not resurfaced. They both jumped in to assist, pulling the little girl out of the water and to safety. WPFR is proud to recognize them for their selfless acts and wish them a big congratulations!
