9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

Please join West Pierce Fire & Rescue on Thursday, September 11, at 5:30 p.m. for a memorial ceremony remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

The event will take place outside at Reflection Park, located in front of WPFR Station 31 at 3631 Drexler Drive in University Place. We invite our community to stand with us as we remember the victims, support their families, and honor the countless heroes whose courage continue to inspire us.

For those unable to attend, we encourage you and your families to visit Reflection Park at your own time for reflection. The park honors and lists the nearly 3,000 lives lost that day, featuring the “Weeping Wall” water memorial with 403 etched grooves representing the fallen firefighters, paramedics, and police officers. At the park’s center stands a piece of steel from the World Trade Center, brought from New York to Washington by WPFR firefighters in 2012.
