WPFR Honors Commissioner Bart Dalton at Final Board Meeting
West Pierce Fire & Rescue (WPFR) honored Board Chair and Commissioner Bart Dalton at Tuesday night’s Board of Fire Commissioners meeting, marking his final meeting as a commissioner.
Commissioner Dalton’s hard work in the fire service first began in his involvement in a strategic planning effort in 2000. Four years later, he was elected to the Board of Fire Commissioners for the Lakewood Fire Department (which later merged to form WPFR) – a role he held for more than 20 years.
Throughout his 21 years as a commissioner, Commissioner Dalton has watched and helped guide the department through significant milestones, including fire chief transitions, department mergers, levies and bonds, and numerous other decisions and major events.
He has faithfully served WPFR and the communities of University Place and Lakewood, contributing altogether more than 30 years of community service and continuing that work beyond WPFR through the local Kiwanis Club and other neighborhood groups.
Thank you, Commissioner Dalton for everything you’ve done for WPFR!
