West Pierce Fire & Rescue Welcomes New Commissioner
At the West Pierce Fire & Rescue Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 4, Commissioner Marshal (Scott) Dellinger was sworn in to fill the vacancy for Position 5.
He was sworn in by Pierce County Superior Court Judge Grant Blinn.
Commissioner Dellinger, a Lakewood resident, serves as a Captain with the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority, where he has worked for 27 years. He retired from the U.S. Air Force Reserves in 2019 after 32 years of military service. He also serves on the board of The Daffodil Festival.
He was nominated in December and appointed on Jan. 21.
Dellinger will hold the seat through the remainder of 2025. An election will be held later this year to fill the next six-year term, from 2026 to 2031.
